Coronation Celebrations in Waimate.
ORDER OP PROCESSION, &c
The Mounted Infantry, the Waimate Rifles, Returned Tvoa rs. and the Band will be drawn tip in line in the Borough Council Chambers paddock—from right to left in the order named ; the school children will be massed in front of the flag in Queen street, those from the furthest schools nearest the flag in the following order if present : Waihaorunga, Otaip, Hunter, Makikihi, Waihao Downs, Hook, Hannaton, Kapua, Waituna, Catholic School, and District High School. Borough Councillors will occupy the pavement in front of the chambers. The following diagram shows the position of the respective bodies:—

After the hoisting of the flag the societies will form a procession in the order mentioned below. The order of the procession will be:— Hand, Studholmo Mounted Rifles, Waimate Rifle Volunteers, Returned Troopers and Veterans, children of various schools, Borough Council, Maoris, Foresters, Caledonians. Hibernians, Oddfellows, Fire Brigade, and Orangemen. At the planting of -the oak the troops in the Council paddock will not join the procession, but move to the right to witness the ceremony.
The procession will form up again and leave for the Park at all bodies meeting at the drillshed.
At the planting of the oak the children will be massed in John street, the societies remaining on Victoria Terraco. Messrs E. C. Studholmo and Middleton are kindly acting as assistant marshals for the captains of the local corps. All volunteers and returned troopers are expected to report at the Drill Shed at 9.15 before joining any other body such as the baud. The Waimate Rifles, Studholme Mounted Rifles and returned troopers will form three separate bodies. There was little attempt at decoration of the town last evening, although the shops were open for business till 10 o’clock. Most of the decorations are incomplete and will be finished to-day. PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY. 10 a.m. sharp, Borough Council Chambers : Mrs M. Studholms ho sts Union Jack ; feu de-joie ; first verse of National Anthem sung, all volunteers, public bodie>, and societies being present. 10 15 a.m. : Planting of Coronation oak in triangle by the Mayoress. Douglas, E q., Chairman County Council. 1 30 p.m : Monster procea-ion leaves drilUhed for Victoria Park. 2 p.m. : Presentation of medals on arrival at Park ; comic and children’s sports ; trophies to the value of £lO will b * competed for.
