(Sir, —In reply to your letter of 18th instant, I am directed to inform vou that there has been some little delay in obtaining a scheme of subdivision from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch ; the soheme has, however, now been received and the land has been divided into several sections, which will be gazetted for opening a» soon as possible, though 1 cannot tell you exactly when the ballot will take place, but no time will be lost.—l am, etc. Wm.
