CLKABING BALE AT WILLOWBRIDGE. Meesrs Guinness and LaCren (Mr E. R. Guinness, auctioneer), instructed by Mr John Pratt, who had sold his farm, held a very mice ssful clearing sale at his late farm. Of the other entries heavy bullocks mnde £9 to £ll, steers £6 17s 6d to £8 10s, heifers £6 2s 6d to £8 7s 6d, extra prime cows £8 to £lO 10a, others £5 5s to £7 10s. Fat Sheep. —The entry was larger than for some time past, and included some good lines of wethers. There was keen compet tion between freezing buyers an 1 both live and dead exporters to Sydney, with the result that a rise of fully Is per head took place, but secondary ewes were rather neglected. Heavy wethers brought 20s 6d to 23s 4d, best freezers 16s to 20s, lighter sorts and maiden ewes 14s 9d to 15s 91, butchers' ewes lis to 15s 6d, merino wethers 9s to lis 31. Fat hmbs.— Only some 160 were yarded, the majority being really good **sorts. Buyers for export were keen on securing supplies, and all that were fit went for freezing at from 10s Gd to 14a and up to 15s 9d for extra quality, inferior sorts being taken by butchers at 9s to 10s 3d. The yarding of store sheep comprised 1750, the bulk of which were wethers. A good demand was experienced for all classes and a fair clearance was made. Forward wethers brought from 13s to 13s Bd, good young ewes lis to 13s lOd, aged sorts 5s 2d to 10s 9d, hoggets 9s 9d to 10s 6d. Pigs,—Fair yardings of all claseea came forward. Fats brought fully up to jjlast week's rates, but 3'ores were slightly f' easier. Bsconers made 37s to 54e c averaging 4d per lb ; porkers 21s to 345, equal to 4d to 4£d; large stores 15» to 235, including a line from Cheviot at the top figure ; smaller sort, lis to 14s J suckers and weaners, 5s to 9a.
