Waimate Horticultural

Society. o The luljourned meeting was held last evening, present Rev. McKonxie Gibson (chair) and Messrs Ravenhall, Hargre.ives, Smith, W. Taylor, C A. Wilson, D. A. Morgan, G. Akhurst and W. L. Scott (secretary). Apologies were read from Messrs McGowan and Hynam.

Mr R. G. Baxter sunt £1 Is for most points in fruit, class B. The prize was received with thanks, and \>as allocated as desired.

Special prizes were also received as follows:—Mrs J. F. Douglas, £1 Is; Mr H. Middleton, lis 61 ; Mr B. Flynn, 10s ; Mr A. Harris, ss; Mrs A. Harris, ss; Miss Collins, ss. The remainder of the schedule was gone through and some rearrangement of special prises took place. In the poultry the classes for turkeys and geese were struck out. All entries are for sinylo birds. Considering the interest being taken in pigeons now, it was decided to add two classes. It was also decided to give a priz-? of 10s Gd for a race from Christchnroli, the first three birds to be exhibited at show. Mrs Douglas' priz.-i of £1 Is was divided into two prizes of 10s (> 1 for most points in poultry and in pigeons respectively. In needle and fancy work the classes for crochet bed quilt and patchwork quilt, hand - sewn chemise, cambric handkerchief in drawn thread work, and best dressed shilling doll were thrown out. Mrs S. J. Adams' prize of 10s for plain sewing was put in and Mrs McKeuzie Gibson's prize of 10s 6d was allotted to most points in needle and fancy work. The schedule as amended was adopted.
