GERALDINE LIVE STOCK SALE. There \v is a good attendance at the Ger.ddine live stock sale on Thursday, and a fairly s.tisfactory market. The entry of sheep was about 4000. Threequarter hied hoggets sold at ss, os Gd, 6s Gd, 7s 6d, 8s 6d to 10s ; ewes in lamb, 4 and 6-toolh, 12s Gd to 13s ; old ewes in lamb, 5» 3 i, Gi 6d to 8s ; 2and 4 tooth wethers (stores), 10s 6d to 12’ 3 I ; tat and forward wethers, I2s Gd to 15s. There was a good entry of cattle which sold well. Springing cars brought £7 to £8 15s; fat cows up to £8 ; cows in profit up to £8 There was a fair en'ry of pigs. Small stores fetched 9$ 3d, 9s Gd, 11s to 12s. THE ADDINGTON MARKET. Christchurch, July 9. “ Cattle—lss fat cattle, mostly secondary sorts, were yarded, and prices showed an improvement. Prime stores sold at £9 5s to £lO 12s 6d, others £0 10s to £3 10-, best heifers £8 to £9 15s, cows £6 to £8 12s Gil. No business was done in stores. Pigs—4oo pigs were penned and met a better demand for fats, but stores were neglected. Sheep-3200 fat sheep were penned, and prices ruled about Is lower than last week.
