The Flour Trade.
Auckland, July 3. As the outcome of the recent open air meeting in Auckland of the Trades and Labour Council, at which the establishment of cooperative flour mills was advocated that body has, it is .stated, received an offer of a fully equipped southern mill at what is claimed to be a Very low figure. The coat of the property is stated at £30,000, while the price quoted to the Trades and Labour Council by an Auckland firm on behalf of the owners is £12,000. It is understood} that the offer has been referred to the Trades and Labour Council at Dunedin. In reference to the recent importations of American flour lo Auckland, it is stated by the importers that another shipment will arrive by the Sonoma, which is due about the 23nd of this month, but that this is likely to be the last shipment, owing to the American market having advanced so much during the last two months. Later shipments are in execution of orders booked before the advance in the American and London markets.
