The Coronation.

0 London, July 2. Mr Seddon has instructed the Coronation Contingent to remain until the end of August. Lord Roberts, on behalf of the Queen, sent a complimentary message to the colonials and Indians. The message adds : " The King desires me to inform the soldiers of the colonies and India, who are such worthy representatives of the Empire, that from his sick-room he heard with gratification the expression of the people's welcome to their comrades." At the Benchers' dinner to the Premiers at the Temple, Sir B. Barton said that he hoped to retain the colonial troops it there was a prospect of the Coronation taking place sufficiently early to enable arrangements to be made.

It is announced that ihe Coronation will be much quieter than was originally intended, but that its religious character will be more strongly emphasised, There will be fewer foreign representatives, except the nearer connections of Boyalty.
