TEMUKA STOCK SALE. At the Temuka stock sale which wa held on Tuesday, there was a fair yarding of sheep and cuttle and a good at! end ■ ance of buyers, the prices realised being on a par with late sales Quotations were as follows : Fat ewes, Is, 7s 41, Ss 3d, 10s lOd, to 13s ? three-quarter bred lambs, 7s 4d, 7s 6d, Ss to 8s 6d ; 4 and 6-tooth wot hers, 10s 10d. Cattle—Steers and heifers, 30s to 31s ; fat heifers, £8 ; calves 8s to 10s. Figs—Weaners, 5s to 7s 3d ; stores, 10s ; baconers, 29s to 30 s. THE ASHBURTON MARKET. Ashburton, July 1. There was a small entry at Tiuwakl yards to-day, a-ui the sale was a very dragging one. The following are some of the prices obtained Fat sheep, merino wethers os 4d, crossbred ewes Gs 3d, cross bred wethers 12s 3d to 16s 7d, merino ewes 5s 91 to Gs 4d ; a tore sheep, hoggets 3s to 7s, crossbred owes 9s 3 1 to •11s 6d, merino ewes 3-* 51. Cattle — Fat steers £4 15s, heifers £5 to £7 sfab cows £6 ss, store cattle, yearlings £1 2s to £2 2s Gd, springers £3 to £4 5--, cows in calf £6, dairy cows £3 2s 6d to £5 15s. ADDINGTON STOJK MARKET. [By Telegraph.] Cbri-tciktrcii, July 2. There was a small entry of stock at the yards in consequence of the inclement weather, and the attendance wa-< correspondingly limited. Sheep.—ln the sheep pens there were only six lots offered, totalling 530, and of these 147 ewes were sold at 11s Id. and 132 lambs at 7-. The e were 765 far lambs offeied, and competition was slack, several lines of freezers being withdrawn and sent to the factory on owners’ account. Freezers sold at 10s 'o 13s; a pen of extra he vy was bought by a butcher at 14s, and inferior sorts 8s to Gs 6b Fat sheep wire in short supnly, and the market opened with good prices. Cattle. —There were only 96 head of fat cattle penned, and competition being brisk, prices recovered from last week’s decline. Steers made £7 7s 6d to £9 76d ; heifer p, £5 15- to £8 7s Gd; cows, £4 15s to £B, tqual to 19s to 24s per 1001 b, a few prime heifers making higher values.
Pigs. A small entry of pigs sold at about last week’s rates, bacone-s making 34s to 48s Gd, and up to 51s 61 for extra heavy, equal to sid to 4d per lb : porkers, 19s to 31s 6d, equal to 3|d per lb j stores, 10s to 19s ; weaners, 7s ’o 9s 6d.
THE SYDNEY MAPKETS. Sydney, June 30. Twenty thousand s-heep were offered at the fat st< ck market to-day. There was splendid competition, and extreme rates prevailed, heat, wethers selling to 41s and ewes to 18s 61. A s nail number of cross-bred we* hers, on account cf Mr G. H. Scales, Wellington, were told ; 43 realised 29s 9d and lour 26s 3d. Prices for lambs wore lower than last week, bett selling up to 14s, and good fines up to 10s. Catue met a brisk sale, prime fetching £ls, and good up to £9. Butter, choice, sold at Is sd'to Is 6d; prime factory, id less.
