Ensign Macaulay, of the local Salvation Aarmy Corps has forwarded us a booklet entitled “ Love’s Coronations,” being the annual social report of the Salvation Army in the colonies, Storyettes and statistics show clearly the determined effort made bfr the Army to raise the fallen, while they reveal only too clearly the great amount of immorality of various kinds which is in existence. The number is well worth perusal.
Messrs Nimmo and Blair, the wellknown Dunedin seed merchants, send their annual catalogue which is, as usual, got up “regardless.” The cover is indeed a work of art, being lithographed from plates produced by colour photography. The interior, besides containing hundreds of plates of stock flowers, vegetables and trees, embraces many interesting novelties and gives comprehensive hints for gardeners’ guidance during the year. The annual has made itself a household necessity and its coming is looked for as regularly as that of spring. We wish Messrs Nimmo and Blair the success their enterprise deserves.
