OAMARU MARKET REPORT,
Little business h*s been done during the past few days, though the firmness in the wheat market continues. As much as 4s at Hakataramea has been paid for a line of very prime wheat, but this is above the average, and 4->, dalivered, is still the price at which millers nre doinj; bnsines3. Prices for oats are slightly easier, more especially in* damugou samples, of which plenty of samples are offering. Other classes of produce are unchanged. We quote for produce delivered at store, sacks extra, except where otherwise stated ; Id should bs added for f.o.b. Wheat (old, very scarce) Prime miMinj?, 4s to 4s Id, ex store. Wheat (now) Velvet, 4s ; prime samples a id more j red chaff, iis 10<1 ; medium milling 3s 8d to 3s lOd; discoloured or damaged wb, at for fowl feed

Messrs Guinness and LeCren report on their weekly sale at auction as follows ; Pigs—Good entry. One baconer sold at 2ls ; porkers, 193 to 19a- 6d ; stores, from 9s to 10s ; weaner 3 from 6s to 83 6d ; suckers, 4s to ss. Gatt le—Wo sold four cows on account Mr Jas. Inkster at £6 10s, £6, £5 and £4 12s 6d. Poultry Roosters (hotter sorts) brought 7s to 7s 6d ; ordinary sort 3,2 s to 2s 2s 6fl ; hens, 2s to 2* 6d; duck«, Is 8d per pair, sold at ljd per lb ; carrots, 2s 3d a bag ; potatoes, (Derwents) at 4s to 6i a bag. TIMARU MARKETS. The wheat market in Timaru at present is at a standstill, farmers' and buyers' ideas of values differing to the extent of from 2d to 3d per bushel. The most buyers are prepared to give is 3s lOd par bushel, while farmers refuse to accept 2s. A brisk business isbeint; done,in oats, this cereal being worth from 2s 5d to 4s 7d according to sample. There is nothing doing either in barley or potatoes.
