Commercial.
TIMARU PRODUCE MARKETS. The markets have been quiet this week, and merchants report few sales. Old wheat is not quoted, the market being bare of supplies. For new wheat buyers are offering 3s 9d on .trucks at country stations, but growers will not accept this price. Oats are quoted all in at 2s 4d on trucks at country stations and business has resulted at this figure; discoloured being worth Id to 2d less, according to condition and sample. Feed barley is quoted at 2s SH ; malting is not quote-1, as there is none offering, A few sales of potatoes have been made at £3 per ton, sacks in, country stations; but the majority of growers expect a better price, and as this is not at present forthcoming arc putting their produce in the pit.
SATURDAY SALE. Messrs Guinness and LeOren report of their weekly sale at auction ,as follows : Pigs—Baconers 25s each, stores from 10a to 14s, Weaners 5 s to 8s 61. Cattle—Calf Is Gd. Poultry—3 gobblers at 6s, 2 hens at 3s, roosters from 2k 61 to 4s. hens frun 2s to 2s 3d, ducks from 2%Rd to 3s 2d. Potatoes—Derwents 5s to 7s. Carrots —From 2s 6d to 3s.
