COUNTY OF WAIMATE. AMENDMENT OF WATER RAGE BY - LAW. ÜBLIC NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the powers and prousions contained in “ The Counties Act, 1886,” “ The Water Supply Act, 1891 " and 11 Ttio Water Supply Act Amendment Act, 1898, that under and hy virtue of the said powers and provisions a resolution was adopted hy the Waimato County Council on the 30Ji day of Apri 1 , 1902, to make hy special order to take effect from the date of the confirming of the said resolution a By-law to come into force on the 23rd day of June, 1902, the object or purport whereof is as follows, that is to say To repeal Section 4 of By-law No. 1 of Water Race By-laws of the said County providing for payment in respect of lands within Water Supply District as therein set forth of annual rates or charges for water supplied as follows :

lii the Lower Waihao Water Supply District an annual charge of l£d in the £ upan the rateable value of all such lands as aforesaid. In the Lower Parocra Water Supply District an annual charge of Ud in the .£ on the rateable value of all such lands as aforesaid. And to substitute a provision in lieu thereof for payment in respect of all such lands as aforesaid of an annual rate or charge for Avater supplied of six pence per acre upon all such lands as aforesaid within each Water Supply District within the County of Waimate. And also to repeal Section 6 of the said By-law No 1 providing for payment of the rates or charges thereunder on the First day of May in each year in manner there provided and to substitute therefor a provision that the rate or charge to be payable under the said proposed By law, shall be payable in like manner and on the said Ist day of May in eaeh year, but with a proviso that the first payment thereof shall be made on the 9th day of July, 1902. And I farther give notice that the meeting at which j it is proposed to confirm such resolution will be held on the 4th day of June, 1902, and that a copy of the said proposed special order and By-law is deposited at the office of the Waimate County Council at Waimate, and will

be open for inspection to the public during office hours from this date until the day of the said-meeting, GEO, Y. COCHRANE, County Clerk, Dated Ist day of May, 1902,
