TIMARU PRODUCE MARKETS. The unsettled weather is still seriously interfering with the prodace markets, and to a certain extent with the shipping of cereals. The farm lands continue so soft that the threshing mills cannot more and one result of this is that the wheat market is very bare of supplies. In wheat a sharp rise has taken place, and the offer of 8s 9d for prime lines is
being refused by growers, who are holdingout For 4s. This is for prime lines, and farmers are almost sure to get it as stocks are very low and millers and others must have wheat. Very few samples are offering, as threshing u at a standstill. The market for oats shows no
change, and last week's quotations are namely, 2s l£d to 2a 2d in socks on truck*, Timaru, 2s 2d to 2s 2Ad in 801 b bags. Large quantities will he shipped neat week and are ready in store. There are plenty of enquirers for barlny, but none is on offer. Feed is quoted at I 2d 6d to 2h 9d and malting 3a lo 3s 9d, the somewhat wide m»rgin allowing for quality. Tho Jalt floods and contiuucd tnins have brought potatoes to a stand* still, and at prt-aont no reliable quotation can bo given- Many of the crops are rotting w the ground.
