Cures for “Drink” Fail.
Dr. Crevally, of fvrdnoy, has had an OX* pericnco with anti-alcoholic serum that throws doubt on the ethcacy of the sdrum discovered by the Paris doctors. Sapcllier, Thebault, and Broca. Dr. Crevally injected scrum from a calf into several confirmed; drunkards. They gave up drinking, but after a week took to it again as hard as ever, and the doctor came to the conclusion that their temporary cure was due Id imagination, bo ho tried' the effect ot injecting clear wale;- into them instead of the intoxicated-calf serum. They then', declared their repugnance for alcohol and kept sober for a few days. He concluded,, therefore, that the Paris scrum cures werflf due to auto-suggestion.
