Chrxbtchorcm, February 19. There was a large entry of nil classes of stock, and a good attendance. Sheep —The yarding of store sheep totalled 9295, and was made up prineip ally of ewes of mixed ages and two-tooin wethers, With a few lo.sof inferior lambs. The sale was soimwha. dull and dragg ir g, and a good proportion of the lots offered faild to find buyers at the prices asked. The chief s >les were : 133 bwo-tooih ewes 12s 3d, 147 mixed ages Us 4d, 13 at Us, 391 at 9s Bd, 130 at 5s 10d, 158 at ss, 6105 two-tuoth wetoers tud ewes 12s 7d, 470 wethers 12s 9d, 306 at Ha 9d, 200 two-tooth IBs, 189 at 8* lid and lls Bd, 400 marine wethers 4s 4d to 4s 6d, 306 lambs at6ii 4d, 200 at 6* 6d, and 296 at 4s 4d, and smaller lots 4< to 10s 6d. There was a fairly large entry of fat lambs, the quality showing a further falling off, and the compel ition was not very brisk. Fat sheep were in average supply, the entry being prineip ally ewes. . Cattle There were 202 fat cattle penned, being chiefly light-weight cows and heifers. The supply was beyond requirements, and prices were a shade easier. Steers made £6 5s to £8 12s 6d; cows £5 to £8 4s, and extra to £9 10s, equal to 16s to 21s per 1001 b. Pigs—Tbeie was a fair entry of pigs and many of the lots were unfinished, 1 and prici s for good bacouers and porker* showed an improvement. Large stores were in good demand for fee ing on stubble, and a line of 50 were bought for the peninsula. Baconers m*de 36s to 545, equal to 3|d to 41 per lb*, porkers, 25s to 325, equal to 4d to 4id per lb ; large stor» s, 15s to 28s ; m-idium, 10s to 14s; auckeis and wearers, 5i to 9s,
