Dr Lilico, M.R.C.V.S., arrived in Waimafce on Tuesday and left yesterday afternoon. Mr A. E. Gf. Rhodes, 'Mayor of Christchurch, arrived iu Waimato on Tuesday afteinoon and returned home yesterday. Mr Rippingale, formerly of Waimate. has received word that another of his sons (Trooper John Rippingale) is suffering from enteric fever. Mr and Mrs A. Kennedy left Wairnate bv yesterday’s express for a week among the Otngo Lakes, to be followed by a short holiday in Christchurch. Mr T. E. Taylor, ex-M.TI.R. for Christchurch and a leading temperance reformer, leaves New Zealand shortly on a visit to Europe, Mrs Taylor accompanying him. At a meeting of the Otaio School Committee on Saturday evening Miss J. Fyfa, at present teacher at Kapua. Was appointed mistress. Miss Fyfe is to take charge of iha Ots.it school after Easter.
