XN view of the probability of a NINTH CONTINGENT being despatched to South Africa, the following information is published for the information of intending applicants; Two Battalions will be formed, on© from the North Island, and one from the South Island. Fresh Applications from Officers or for Commissions are to bo submitted as early as possible, addressed to Officers Commanding Districts. Applications from Non-coms, and men to be made by letter to the Recruiting Officer Ninth Contingent, at the nearest of the following Recruiting Centres, viz.:— CHRISTCHURCH. CULVERDEN. RANCH OB A. SHEFFIELD. ASHBURTON. , ; Military Service. The physical standard is fixed at : Height, sft siu to sft lOin, Chest measurement, 35ia (expanded) Ago, between 19 and 35 years.
