Beat buJooks biought £9 10a 6d to £ls 10s, medium weights £8 to £9 5», medium and inferior £5 15a to £7 ss, best cows and heifers £6 10a to £7 2a 6d. medium £5 10a to £6, light £4 5s to £5 , , Sheep —2374 fat sheep were penned, which was in excess of requirements. crossbred wethers brought 15a to 16b, one or two extra pans 16a 3d to 16s 6d medium 13s to 14s, small and inferior 10a to 12a 3d. In lambs 759 were yarded. Tho demand was good for prim* quality. Best brought Us to 12a 3d crime light 9a to 10a 6d, medium quality 8. Mto 1 8. 9d, n»U 7. to J. 9d. Pigs—l 76 pigs -were yarded. There, was a brisk sale for all descriptions and prices were in favour of vendors. Suckers brought 8s to 12s. slips 14s to 16s, stores 18s to 21s, porkers 23s t« 325, baconets 25a to 30s, big pigs up to 60s.
CLEARING SALE. Messrs Guinness and LeOren, Ltd., report having hold on Thursday at Hannaton, Studholme Junction, a very successful clearing sale of horses, implements, and sundries, on account nf Mr Tbos. Simpson, who has sola his farm to Mr Wright, lata 01, Rangitata. Notwithstanding that harvest operations were in fall swing in the district, thsre was a good gathering of farmers, and the general public. Mr E. R. Guinness wielded the hammer, and cleared everything at prices very satisfactory to the vendors. A draught mare, six years with foal at
£2O: hack mare, £8; cows ia full profit, £5 12s 6d co £4 2s 6d; yearling steers and heifers, £1 2s 6d , pigs, £1 8s to 18s 3d ; farm drays and frames, £l6, £l3 17s 6d and £8 10s; reaper and binder, £5 ; drill, £3 ; harness and sundries at full market values. A few outside horses and cattle were also sold at "current prices.
