The Government is calling for tenders for a steam service to South Africa. The available subsidy is £30,000. The contract is to be for three years, and the steamers are to be not less than 2000 tons or more than 4000 tons, fitted with refrigerators, and accommodation for passengers, mails and live stock. The vessels must have a speed of not less than ted knots, and preference will be given to, those having more.
