I Forrester’s breeding shows that he is descended from a very successful strain of roadsters, and the reputation gained by Shales is already being upheld by Forrester, who is leaving first class stock. GOOD TIMES, by Hard Times (imported), is a beautiful bay with black points, i years old, and • lands 16i hands. Hard Times, by Extinguisher, dam Polly, out of Darling by Prince of Wales, was a grand horse and a first-class prizetaker allover New Zealand. Extinguisher, sire Young Vanquisher (imported from Scotland by the late David Nesbitt). As a two-year-old Extinguisher was first in his class and champion at Dunedin; was first and champion at Invercargill, beating Just the Time of Day and the other celebrated stallions. Hard Times, has been awaaded four firsts and one second, first and champion at Taieri. Hard Times is admitted by all unbiassed judges to be the best breeding stallion in Southland.
