Waimate Horticultural Society.
A committee mealing was held last evening, present, tho Rev. McKenzie Gibson (chair), Messrs jSTic-jI, Howard, 11. Maunders, G. •\!chursfc, Wilson, Smith and IScott
(H’CroUry). The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was received from Miss Clarko thanking the Society for tDo present forwarded -o her and the good wishes that, accompanied it. / The Waimate Grass Hand wrote agreeing to play on tho evening of the show.
The Secretary reported that Ilia Worship the Mayor (Mr J. Manchester), hud expressed his willingness to open the show. Tho President of) e rod a special prize of As for the best kept garden attended to by chi Id von under Id yours of ago at their homos, and. the Society altered 0s second and 2s third for the scone class. Mr R. G. Baxter sent £l Is to the prize fund, and it was decided to devote KG (Is as a prize for most points in sections for poultry and needle and fancy work.
A great amount of detail work was arranged and the mooting ended with a vote of thanks to the chair.
