Timaru Harbour Board.
The TimaruHarbour Board met on Friday, Mr W. Evans in the chair.
The chairman stated lhat the, receipts for the month were ; Wharfage (eight weeks), J 61405 5s 8d J ships' dues, ,£474 14%, 6d ; debentures sold, £14,700. The whole of the debentures of the first half of the 1000 loan had now been disposed of. Mr Bardsley, the new secretary, had entered upon his duties, The Board's solicitors presented air account-of J6l 13a fid for expenses', ,' and: charges in connection with the Waimate Inclusion. Bill. The retttto of the total cost of the Bill, laid or* the table on the motion of Mr Man-. cheater, was £lB3 4s sd.
The harbourmaster reported the* arrival of nineteen steam and threw Bailing vessels of an aggregate tonnage of 14,504 tons during November. The weather daring the month had been squally, with smooth seas. la a special report Mr A. E. Austin,, resident engineer, recommended thai the present direction of the new' eastern mole should not be altered, in any way. The alteration that was proposed, Mr Austin said, would involve the abandonment of the main purposes for which the mole was- " designed. *
