Lecture at Nukuroa.

On Tuesday evening, in the Nukuroa schoolroom, the Rev. George Barclay lecture.l to a good audience on “ Romo, Venice, Milan and Genoa,” the funds to ba devoted to the school prize funds. Mr G. J. Saacklaton occupied the chair.

The lecturer, who bad recently visited tho places mentioned, gave a very interesting and instructive address, bringing vividly before the eyes of the audience the past and present splendours of these oldworld cities —Milan with its magnificent churches and its cathedral containing ‘2OUO carved figures, Venice with its gondolas, its palaces and mysteries ; Genoa, the birthplace of many famous statesman and great navigators, and Rome, tho splendid capital of a once splendid race. During the evening several anthems were capably rendered by the choir and at the close of tho address a vote of thanks to the lecturer was pat and carried by acclamation.

Tho result will bo a good accession to the school funds.
