ADDINGTON-LIVESTOCK MARKET. . [bt telegraph.] Christchu'ich, November 27. There was a medium entry of stock in all departments and a fair attendance. In the store sheep pens 2600 head were offered, being mostly eweß and lambs and hoggets. The sale was dull, but a considerable proportion of the entry changed hands at low prices, the dry weather and scarcity of feed compelling owners to sell. The chief sales were 10S two and 4-tooth wethers 9s 4d, 100 hoggets 8s Id, smaller lots 7s 6d to 9s 4d,' 130 ewes and lambs 7s 6d, 132 at 7s 4d, 201 at 6s, 308 at 43 Bd, 200 at 3s Id, 227 ewes in the wool and lambs 10s (all counted in each case). The entry of fat lambs was much smaller than that of last week, values therefore showed a decline. Butchers' lambs made 9a to 13s 9d. There was a email mixed entry of fat sheep. . Cattle.—ln the fat cattle pens there was an entry of 177 head, the quality not being equal to that of the yearlings of late. Bidding was irregular, and except for prima steers values were a shade easier. Steers made £7 10s to £9 12s 6d. and one extra £ll 7s 6d ; heifers £5 10s to £7 12s 6d, and a first prize heifer at the Ashburton show at £lO ss; cows £5 to £8 2s 6d, equal to 18s to 26s per 1001 b. Pigs.—There was a fairly large entry of stores. Fats were easier, especially porkers, but good stores sold well, two or three outside buyers operating. Baconers made 35s to 555, equal to 3£d per lb.; porkers 21s to 30s, equal to 3£d to 3|d par lb ; large stores 163 to 245, medium 12s to 15s, and suckers and weaners Bs. ENGLISH MARKETS. The Agent-Gener«loibleaas follows : The average price for Canterbury mutton is 34d; Duoedin, Southland, and Wellington M"at Exhort Companies 3£d; other North Island 3£d; River Plate, 2|d. The market is weak River Plate mutton is in large supply, and is being Rtrongly pushed for cale CaMterbuiy lamb, 4|d; other New Zealand lamb, 4d. Tnere is scarcely any demand, and prices are nominal. New Zealand beef, hinds, 3£; fores, 2 5 6d. Choicest butter is firm; Australian, 112 s. For inferior butters the market is dull. There are large stocks in the oold stores. The cheese market is unsettled. Canadian, 455. Hemp is firm, but quiet. Gtwd fair Wellington on the soot, £34 ; to arrive, £32.
