Mostly About People.
0 Tbe Hon. T. Y. Duncan, Minister of Linds, was at Waimate show on' Tuesday, whera he acied as judge of cattle, a position he has occupied for a number of years. After his duties he was the recipient or several informal deputations on milters connected with his department. It was rumoured on Wednesday that Dr Barclay, of Waimatc, had me* with a serious accident on Tuesday night, bub on enquiry we found it had no foundation in fact. Dr Barclay was driving in from Waihao Downs, and passing another trap near the Forks, both on their right side of the road, when his horse swerved into the o'.her and both traps were upset. Drßirclay only was hurt and that slightly, but both vehicles were much damaged. The doctor walked to the Forks hotel and remained therefor the night, his trap bung patched up in the morning sufficiently to allow him to drive into town.
