Mundell, auctioneer) repori on the horse ahd cattle market ai Tattersall's yards Tirnaru on Saturday as follows: The entry comprised 80 draught, light harness, and hackney hosses, and. • included in the entry were soma of the exhibited stook of the late show. There wan a strong for good sorts, but vendors' reserves in many instances were excessive, consequently only a \ limited number of horses changed hands at auction. We quote values as under : Draughts, young, with trial, £3O, £3l 10b, £35, £36 10s, £37, £4O, £4l, £45, to £SO; aged and weedy sorts, £ll. £l2, £ls, £lB 10s, to £25 ; light harness horses, £l2, £l3 13s, £l4, £lB 10s, to £25; hackneys, £5, £7 10s, £9, £lO, to £ls ss. SOUTHLAND OAT MARKET. • Inveroabgill, November 15. There is practically nothing fresh to report in the oat market. Business during the past week has bean restricted to small purchases on account of South African orders. A few lines ar« now offering from the country, and even these are difficult to sell at the high prices asked. Merchants who have taken up the South African orck<ra are now fully covered for all commitments. The s.s. Shrewsbury is expected to load oats for Africa ; another vessel has been chartered for this month, and another in December. Merchants had to aocept Is 6d per quarter less for the last cargo than for orders booked last month, Busineß3 with Australia has completely stopped, Tnure is a demand for small lines for the North Inland, bnt not sufficient to uffeoS market values. Stocks in the country seam to be reduced to very small compass, Values at present are from 2s Id to 2s l|d for best B grade on trucks at up country stations, sacks extra. ENGLISH MARKETS.
