INCENDIARISM SG>PEOTED. About 2.80 a.m. on Tuesday, Messrs B. Presland and '&. Kilgour were going home from work, when they discovered fire and amoke coming from under the door of Messrs Manchester- and Oo'fl. building, nearest to Mr )?. Akhurst's. Thtiy immediately ran for water, and as the fire was very email soon put it out. On. examination, it was found tait the door step, door post and the floor iu.sido the door had been sorinkled with kerosane, so there is a strong suspicion of incendiarism. The police have the matter in hand, Detactive coming (Town from Tauaru by Tuesday's express. It i.s to be hoped the offender will soon ba caught, iis Waimate's fire fiend ha? bean too long at large.
