Cattle.—224 fat cattle were yarded, an exceptionally fine lot. Best brought last week's rate*, but others were ea-ii-r, lies' bullocks fetched £9 to £lO 10s, evtva £lO 12s 6d to £ll 10s, ohe s £7 10s to £8 15s, best cows and heifers £7 to £9 5s others £5 to £6 15*. Shseo.—l634 fat sheep' were pemed. As butchers had stocks in hands th- ir was not much d>mand for anything but prime stock, which just about brough last weeks rates. A few merinos of middling quality brought good value.
