Cattle.—224 fat cattle were yarded, an exceptionally fine lot. Best brought last week's rate*, but others were ea-ii-r, lies' bullocks fetched £9 to £lO 10s, evtva £lO 12s 6d to £ll 10s, ohe s £7 10s to £8 15s, best cows and heifers £7 to £9 5s others £5 to £6 15*. Shseo.—l634 fat sheep' were pemed. As butchers had stocks in hands th- ir was not much d>mand for anything but prime stock, which just about brough last weeks rates. A few merinos of middling quality brought good value. B?st crossbred wethers 17s 6d to 19s 9d, extra heavy 20s to 21b 6d, unfinished 15< to 16s bd, b st ewes 15s to 19s 6d, others 13s to 14* 9d, meiino wethers 13s to 15s 174 lambi w-re penned J best 12s 61 to 13s 6d, good lis 6d to 12s 3d, others 10s to lis 3d. Pigs.-The yarding of 59 pigs was insufficient, and pricas showed a decided improvement. Sue. rs brought 10s to i3s 6d, slips 14 to 17 ■, stores 18s to 225, porkers 26s '0 35a, ac ners 40s to 51s.
