As a two-year-old Extinguisher was first in his class and champion at Dunedin ; was first and champioa at Invercargill, beating Just the Time of Day and che other celebrated stallions. Hard T.'mes. has been nwaaded four firsts and one second, first and champion at Taici. Hard Times is admitted by all unbiassed judges to be the best- bleeding stallion in Southland. In 1891 he also secured champion prize at Oamaru and Waimaue shows.
