Paris, November 5.
In the Chamber of Deputies an interpellation moved by M. Marceil Serobat, Radical deputy for the Seine, with a> view to dealing effectively with the Porte, that France should seek an agreement with the Powers on behalf ol the Armenians, was negatived by 394 votes to 275. The Chamber, by 305 to 77 votes, approved of M. Delete'* statement tha6 the Government, in the face of the Porte's bad faith, had determined to energetically enforce respect for the rights and interest! of France. November G. Admiral Ciillard has occupied three of the pnnoipal ports in Mitylene> collects the Customs, and awaits the Sultan's disavowal of numerous violations of treaty rights. November 7. A French Note to the Porte threaten!, fresh demands unless tha Sultan il immediately compliant.
