Alleged Murder.
0 - Christchurcu, October 27. A woman named Elizabeth Tritt, wife* of Carl Tritt, a cabman,'died at Kaiapoi on Friday night under circumstanceswhich caused the two doctors attending her to refuse to- give a certificate, Thepolice were communicated with, and theinquest opened on the body last nightbefore Dr McArthur, Coroner, and after several witnesses had been examined, was adjourned until Tuesday, Before* Mrs Tritt's death she told the neighbours that the bruises on her body were caused by her husband bsating her with a heavy strap. The two doetora whomade W*e pesfi. mortem' examinationagree that the injuries which would havebeen inflicted in that way, were thecause of death. The post mnrtem revealed extensive iaternal injuries. Tritt was brought to Christcburch today and lodged in gaol.
