ALDINGTON LIVESTOCK MARKET. [By Telegraph.] (Jhotstchdbch, Ocfc. 16. There was a fairly large entry of stock in the yards, and an unusually large attendance. The firat shorn sheep of the season were offered in the fat and store pens. There were only 1310 store sheep offered, but on account of the dry weather they were unsaleable at the priees' asked, the only lots- changing hands being 'wethers at 15s, 38 hoggets at 129 7d, and a few ewes and lambs at Bs, all counted. Shorn wethers were passed at 11a 7d and 13si Between 80 and 90 fat lambs were penned'and they- sold ; *elt t beat sorts making 15* to 17s 9d, and others, lis 8d to 14a 6d. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report under date London, October 11th, as iollows : "Lately 1 epo!ted prices of frrssen meat are barely maintained. We. quoe Victorian prime faetory butter p-?r cwt., nominal vilne. Rabbit-sWns are 10 good demand for good and best qualities, and prices are fully maintained ; while for inferior qualities prices are higher by id to- Id per lb, Bince our last telegram. ' ~ The Agent General s cablegram, received at Wellington yesterday, dated London, October I2tb. is as follows: "Trade for all classes of mafeton has been very slow, and priees are barely maintained. Canterbury mutton, 3Jd; Dunedin and Southland, 3|d; North Island, 3§d; River Plate, S&d. There is scarcely any demand for lamb. The market is depressed ; Canterbury, 4£d ; other brands 4£d. There is a better demand for beef: New Zealand light hinds, 4d ; fores, 2Jd. Butter is firm; Canadian, 108 s ; Danish, 1245. Cheese is dull; Canadian, 46«- Hemp K quiet and prices are unaltered." , London, Octobor 13.
