A Dastardly Outrage.
Last evening as a young man named Ellen was on hia way to town, he was violently assaulted with a stick by some parson at present unknown in the vicinity of Harris street. His Ups were badly cut, half a dozen teeth smashed from the upper jaw, and the front four teeth of the lower, with the plate, staved in. Mr Ellerii was unconscious for some considerable time, and it was not till after midnight that his injuries were attended tn by Dr. Cruickshank. He has r,o idea as to the reason of such a cowardly assault being made upon him.
We trust it will not be long before the offender is brought to book and made a severe example of.
