Waimate Athletic Club.

A general meeting of the Waimate Amateur Athletic Association was held on Saturday evening, Mr E. 0. Studholme presiding over a good attendance. The first business was the election of officers for the year, which resulted as follows : Secretary, Mr R. Buckley ; Treasurer, Mr B. Rattray; Committae, Messrs W. Thomas, H. Coxon, E. Porter, J. Hutchinson N. Mines, L. Olendinning, H. Piibrow and G. Wilson. The annual subscription was fixed at 10s. It was suggested to hold the sports meeting on November 9, but the matter was left to the comraiitee to fix a day which would not clash with other societies’ sports. It was stated that there was a strong probability that the club could amalgamate with the Wairaate Amateur Cycling Club, and a committee, consisting of Messrs R. Buckley, E. Eattray and G. Wilson, was set up to confer with that body. It was decided to affiliate with the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. The question of rules was left to the committee, who will submit rules to a general meeting on October 17. A vote of thanks to the chair closed a very enthusiastic meeting.
