A WOMAN'S CAPABILITIES.
Men ate given to boasting that they can do anything that a woman cau do, and better, if tbey are trained to it. Ellis Green, an American woman, who was masquerading as a man, who is at present incarcerated on a charge of forgery, may be instanced, on the other side, as an example of a woman who can do almos' anything that a man can do, and do it w«U. Recently she wandered into a hotel that was being enlarged, and getting a jab as a carpenter, proved to be so efficient at everything she turned her hand to that she was retained by the proprietor. She assisted in the construction of &n addition to the hotel. She put in all the plumbing in the new part of the house, and changed the plumbing in the old. She repaired the entire house, and painted the exterior, Sht painted a big sign on the front of the hotel's laid the side walk and built 4n arbour. She was next put to work as hotel clerk, and when' there was a scarcity of help assisted in the diningroom and barber's shop. When winter set in the hotelkeeper started a butoher'g shop, and placed her in charge. The meat shop was changsd to a baiber v s shop, and she shaved patrons.
