Technical Education.
A week or two ago we informed our readers that, the Hon. W. J. Steward was endeavouring to get vocal music includod in the .subjects which might bo taught nnder the Manual and Technical Instruction Act: All interested will be pleased k> learn that Major Steward's efforts have been successful, and that he has received the following reply from the Minister:—
Wellinghn, 10th Sept., 1901. Sir,—ln raply to your letter of the 30th ultimo with regard to the omission of 'Wocal music" from the list of subjects recognised under the Manual and Technical Instruction Act, I have the hononr to inform you that the subject will be included when the regulations are revised. ;;• I have the honour to be, Sir, Your obedient W. C. Walter, Minister of Hon. W. J. Steward, M.H.R., Wellington.
