Mr Petrie, Chief Inspector, reporting t» the Auckland Board of Education on the examination of Roman Catholic schools, says;—" Ic the great majority of Roma® Catholic schools examined by the inspectors, Tery little work is dole in some ■of the «kM subjects included in th* public school coarse. In few (if in any) of the Bomaa Catholic schools is the -condition really fulfilled. I would therefore suggest that the Board should point out to the manager of the Roman Catho « eohools that in future years the Inspector will no* be able to grant passes fn hei L standards, or, indeed, in any standard anless the oouxaes of instrnotion in each i «1 the class subjects conform to the programmes set forth in the public sohoui Byllaba«, and are of each fulness as to ehow that regular instruction has beea given in each olaas subject.' 1 Mr Lambs, a member of the BowoY «ald this was a most important deport* and showed that the children in the Bosun Catholic schools w«re not receiving the iasteuciioa given to children isa the primary schools. It was decided to send a -copy ot tfe» latpector's letter to IhoßcßUuCfcttwJift ;
