McGrath pleaded guilty to being drunk in Queen Street the previous evening, and a fine of 10b or 48 hours imprisonment was imposed. . CATTLE TRESPASS. E. T. George v.*M. Cochrane, a charge of allowing cattle to wonder on the road at Morven. • Mi Hamilton appeared for the ranger, and Cochrane pleaded guilty; His Worship inflicted on defendant a fine of 2s with costs £1 Bs. Same v. A. Williams, who pleaded guilty and was fined 6s with costs £1 Bs. MOB IN SHEEP. Stock Department y. E. 0. Studholme, on ft chargeof having sheep
infested with lice at btudumme sals.
E. 0. Studholme pleaded guilt;-, and said that ho did nob think of examining sheep at this time of the year for lice. He bought the sheep a weak before, and offered them for sale without examination. Mr Field asked for a nominal penalty, aa Mr Studholme had since dipped the sheep. A fine of 5a with ooafca 7s was imposed. . ■ AFFILIATION. A young man, a resident of Timaru, was charged with failing to provide for his illegitimate child. Defendant pleaded that he could not get employment or he would have paid. An order was mada for £1 Ba,, and the sum of 7a weekly, with costs £1 Is. * CIVIL OASES. A. Jones and Co. v. Bcofcfc, claim £u 7a 6d. A. Jones appeared and gave evidence of iiidebtodiioas, but Scott did not appear. Judgment van given for amount claimed with costs 6s. Ilia .-V ora hip gave judgment in the care of Philip v. Wilson, claim £24 for balance doc for building, aoufuitiug plaintiff with costs. Iu tho counter cuaim he gave judgment for Wilson fur £8 8s with costs £3 Us.
