Catde in the fat cattle pens 169 head were offered, the quality being good, and there was a briak sale. Four North Island bnl ooks made £lO 12* 61 to £ll 5a ; eight steers from Parnassus eta-ion, £9 5s to £ll 7s 6 I ; five heifers £8 10s to £9 12a 6d,; and turee steers and one heifer from Mr J. Deans, £loloa each. Ordinary steers brought £7 10d to £11; heifers £5 15s to £9 10s ; and cowp, £5 2b 6<l to £9 12a 6', eq«»l to 20* to 25s per 1001 b, ace rding to quality. Pigs were in good supply, baconers and porkers selling well, and there was a bftter demand for stores Baconers made 44 1 to 595, equal to 3|d per lb ; porkers, 22s to 325, equal to 4d per lb ; stores, 10s to 20^; suckers and weanere, 5a to 9s.
