Mr W. L. Scott was a passenger for 'Oanrmru yesterday. Mr B. C. Studholme left Waimate by yesterday's express Mrs H. C. Barclay returned from Wellington by express on Tuesday. Mr Lillico, Government Veterinary Surgeon, is in town. M.r and Mrs Herman Meyer, Waituna, returned to Waimate by express yesterday. The Bev. Father Oleary, editor of the New Zealand Tablet, is in Waimate, and is staying at the Presbytery for ft few days. The Rev. Father Begnault left on Tuesday for Chrietchurcn, in connection with the alterations to be made to St. Patnok's Church. \ Dr Nicolls, of Waimate, had a slight stroke of apoplexy on Tuesday, but is now, we are pleased to say, on the way t j recovery. Mr T. Goldstone, lite QuartermasterSergeant in the Fourth New Zealand Contingent, left Waimate on Tuenday, on his return to Soath Africa. A number ; of friends assembled at the station to aee j him off, and wi*h him (lid-speed. Mr D. Scott, who his been stationed at Waimate railway station for Borne tira><, has been transferred to Rakaia. He left for that place by yesterday's express. Mr Jews, of Little River, is to come to Waimate, but being on sick leave at present his place will be temporarily taken by Mr Keogh, of Morven.
