Thct the Government was in fatour of the imposition of a small taxon sta’dions, the proceeds to go to agricultural societies, and the necessary legislation wonld be introduced this session. That the Government intended to again introduce the Small Birds Nuisance Bill. The debate on the motion for the second reading ef the Easing on Unimproved Values Act Amendment Bill jv hicii provides for compulsory rating on the unimproved value of Und throughout the colony was continued and proved very lengthy. The second reading was carried by twenty seven to twenty-three Mr Seddon intimated that ho would have a return prepared showing in detail how the system of rating on unimproved nines would affect each city, borough and county in the colony. In reply to a question Mr Seddon said this would include every individual ratepayer.
