Waimate Fire Brigade.

On Tuesday, the practice night of the Waimate Fire Brigade, there was a full muster under Captain Sinclair and Lieutenant Colville. The work of the evening was with the manual and reel, and to give greater interest, competitions were arranged between teams 'of the Brigade. The run was from the Royal Hotel to the Knox Church tank, and water was on in very good time. The proceedings attracted a number of onlookers, who were much interested in the smart workmanlike manner the mem oars went to work. After practice, a meeting was held, at which I)r Barclay was present, and agreed to give ambulance lectures to the Brigade, the volunteers also to be invited.
