Business on th « markets has bsen somewhat restricted during the past week, no large lines having chauged hands Oats and wheat remain unchanged, the former at from Is 7d to Is 8d p«r bushel, and 'he latter at 2« 6d per bushel, f o.b. In barley there ifc sbMolufely nothing doing. 8-vrial of the miJl« are fully stocked" with wheat, and ar, present there appears to be no prospe t of a dse in prices. Potatoes are in much the same position a» lust week, with not a Very strung demam 1 . Merchants here are not getting any c d*r which they formerly got for supplies from tlie Nortii Island, »n.l this accounts in part for the weak demand. A good many parts of tlie N Ith Islaud are now being supplied by Blenheim, where there* appears to be an abundant supply, and «» growers in the Blenheim district are prepared to accept a lower price than growers tare, they secure a good deal of bhelrado. R.tas regards quality, potatoes from this district are preferred. Present prices are, £4 10s to £4 15s per ton, f.o.b.
