WAIMATE MAEKETS. ' Butter, wholesale 011 retail... 1 1 Eggs „ 1 0 .. 1 2 STUDHOLME HORSE BALE. Messrs Guinness and LeCren (per Mr D. P. McLean, local agent) report holding a special sale of horses at Studholme yards on Thursday. The entry comprised sixty-five, including some first-class draughts and light harness horßes. Notwithstanding the cold day the attendance must have numbered 300, and including buyers from all over the district and also ironi Chnstchurch, Oamaru, Timaru and Albury. Competition was Very keen for all-round hoases, and the sale is said to have been the beßt held at Studholme since theolearing sale of horses on accouut of the Waimate Estate. A good clbarancn was effected, and about ?eventy-five per cent of the draughts and better classes of ha-uen* horses and tweniy-five per cent of the hacks found new owners.
