At this sale yesterday there was a yarding of about 4000 she* p, and a number of buyers from ail parts attended. Kwes in lamb, failing mouth, brought 10a 6.1, 11-, Us sd, 11s lOd, 12s 3d to 12s 91; stor* lambs 10s, 10s 61, Us 6d, 12s, 12m 71 and 12s 9i; fat wethers, up to 17s 6.1. Cattle—There Was a fair yarding. Cowa in profit realised £3 10s, £4, £4 10a, £5, £5 7s 6d to £5- 10s ; fat heifer*, £5 12a 61; fut cowa to £6; dry cowa, £3 to £4 10a ; two-year-old steers, £3 12s 6d. BURNSIDE MARKETS. Dunedin, July 34. Cattle—At the Burnside market 220 fat cittle were yarded. The demand was ‘confined ?to the trade, and doubtless owing to last week’s large supply, prices f-r bullocks were 10* lower, and cows, unless guaranteed to pass at i he abattoirs, los to 20s per head low r. Best bullocks were worth £8 10s to £10; extra heavy, £lO 15s to £ll 12s &1 ; medium, £7 to £B2s6d; light, £5 to £6 10m; best cows, £6 to £7 10s; extra prime, £7 17s 6d to £Bss ; medium, £4 15s to £5 16s ; light and ag>d, £3 to £4.55. Sheep—lßß6 fat sheep were penned, and a good demand existed at prices on a p r with last week’s. Best crossbred we hers sold at 18a tff 21s 3d ; good to ; best, 17s 6d to 18s 61 ; ordii ary, 14s to 16ff9d; best ewes, 15s 6d to 16a; medium, 155 s 6d to 14s 6d ; merino wethers, 13s 31 "0o 14s 6d. Of fat Jambs, 217 were ’penned, which sold at from 9a to 13. 9\ Pigs—3oo were penned. There was a good dpmand for porkers and baconers. Suckers realised 2s 6d to 8s; slips, 10s to 13s ; stores, 15- to 19s ; peckers, 21a ■ o 35'; baconers, 38s to sls; a few ch peers, 645. DUNEDIN GRAIN MARKET. Dunedin, July 24. Wheat—As a result of the reduction in the freight to London, shrppe'B are.now operating. Millers are also purchasing at prices slieht'y in advance of recent offers. Fowl feed is in short supply, and is fi eely placed. Prime northern milling, 2s 7d to 2s 8d; ged to best, 2s 5d ? o 2s 6d ; inferior to medium, 2s to 2a 5d (packs in). Oats—The demand or ntinua* good, and all bright, stout sot ts find buyers at an advance on lost week’s quotations.
