. O '•!. THE TIMAIIU MARKETS. The outlook oh. the local grain and produce markets is leas hopeful than ifc was .last. week, prices showing a weaker tendency, and very little business having been done. Wheat and oats have not actually receded in value, although the demand is less keen, bub potatoes havegone back to the extent of 10s per ton, this week values being £4 10s as against £5 per ton last week. The reason for this is said to be the heavy supplies which Auckland a,nd Wellington have, and the only thing which keeps the market up here is the Duhedin demand. Sellers are not disposed to accept the £4 10s offered, and are holding out for £5 In wheat, velvet and red chaff are wcrth 2s Sid and 2s 4d, but diiring the week a big line changed hands at 2* 6d per bushel, ex store. In oate, Canadians are worth Is 7d to Is 8d; Danish, Is 7d ; Tartars and Duns, Is 74d to Is 8dThere is nothing doing at all in barley.
