Conciliation Boards.
Wellington, July 21, It cannot be denied, said Mr John Dnthie, at the Foresters’ dinner last night, that employers are at present being harassed in a manner altogether injurious to the community. We now have one continual state Of litigation going on adjusting laboiir disputes in all the four Centres of New Zealand. Employers are being dragged almost every day to attend Conciliation Boards and the Arbitration Court for hearing these disputes. That is not the state of things to last. Another speaker pathetically exclaimed that employers had the Conciliation Board to right of them, the Arbitration Court to left of them, ami the Truck Act behind them, and the Employers’ Liability in front of them. How they were to get otit of this impasse it was impossible to say.
At Balaclava years ago, Six hundred men engaged the foe, . Ah I what a gallant charge was made By that cdqrageous Bight Brigade, Though many perished there, who knows The number killed by Russia's snows, For none can dfttflp and.oold endure, Without some Woods 1 Peppermint Cure.
