The Premier sought the advice of the Imperial Government with regard to; the seizing and suppressing of the newspaper Tocsin, and the ftight Hon. J. Chamberlain: replied deprecating such actions. The Leader of the Opposition protested against the Government seeking such advice. They should have taken the whole responsibility, or they would place the State in the position of little more than a Crown colony.
