New Zealand’s Teachers.

A certificated teachers’ classifies (if hr list is published as a supplement to thus I week’s Gazette.
The summary shows that there are 2691 teachers employed, and 2230 tilemployed, a total 4921 Of the s'e engaged in public instruction, 1296 are males, sixty-seven married women and 1328 single woifien. Of those unemployed 735 ara males, 712 married women and 783 single. These include teachers who have gone into business, retired from active service or left the
colony. All certificated teachers are classified as follows Mr-fc rank (Al), twentytvo ; second (A2 Bl), 128 ; -bird (AB P2 Cl), 209; fourth (A 4 B 3 C2 Hi), 5(5'; fifth (A 5 B 4 C 3 D2 El). ‘987; sixth (T« C 4 1)3 E2), 1346 ; seventh C 5 D 4 T 3), 1003 ; eighth (L>s E 4), 531 ; ninth (15), 110. There are fourteen licensed teachers, one of whom ii unemployed.
