The Federal Parliament
MBLBOttftNB, July 5.
The Son. 0. G. Kingston has raised trouble with the ocean-going companies by providing in the Federal Customs Bill that vessels, after leaving Freemantle for the Eastern States, should pay duty on the goods consumed aboard. The companies argue that a's the vessels would be outside the three miles limit, the federation would have no jurisdiction over them. The Senate decided that the order of retiring senators should be based on their position at the polls at the recent elections.
According to a return supplied to the Federal House, Australian cable business last year produced a revenue of £683,000.
